Ukrainian low-cost carrier SkyUp plans to expand the company's fleet by the end of 2023.

Two Ukrainian Boeing 737-800 aircraft with registrations UR-SQB and UR-SQF were sent to North Africa to work under a contract with the Tunisair airline. They operate flights from Tunisia to various European cities.

According to information from Avianews.com, SkyUp works with the Tunisian carrier under the terms of a standard medium-term wet lease. This means that SkyUp leases planes, crews and provides aircraft insurance.

According to the contract, flights are made to European and North African countries. At present, the Ukrainian low-cost carrier has nine aircraft left out of a total of 12.

SkyUp has transferred one of its Boeing 737-800s with registration UR-SQM to its European subsidiary SkyUp MT for use under the Maltese certificate.

During the standoff between the army and the rapid response forces in Khartoum, the capital of Sudan, two SkyUp Boeing 737-800s with registrations UR-SQA and UR-SQH were there. As a result of the collisions, one of the planes completely burned down.

SkyUp has announced plans to launch its own airline in Europe starting on August 5, 2022. They plan to offer flights from the Baltic countries, Moldova, Romania, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, as well as from Germany and Austria. The main focus will be on traditional tourist destinations such as Turkey and Egypt, as well as exotic destinations including Tanzania.

In addition, SkyUp plans to expand its fleet in Malta by the end of 2023. They emphasized that these would be new aircraft contracts, not existing SkyUp aircraft.
