It is here that the famous Cavern Club is located, where the Beatles began their incredible journey to world fame. In addition, Matthew Street is home to many 60s-style establishments that continue to recreate the atmosphere of that era, playing on the popularity of the famous British group.

This office complex was built in the 20th century and is considered a significant piece of architecture. Its facade is decorated with a huge clock, the diameter of which is more than 7.5 times the diameter of Big Ben. The site is protected by UNESCO and is part of the historical heritage. What made this building especially famous was the fact that reinforced concrete was used for the first time in its construction.

This majestic building, considered one of the main symbols of the city, was built at the beginning of the 20th century and took three years to construct. This tall mast structure with an observation deck is located at an altitude of about 140 meters above ground level and was built in the mid-20th century. Elizabeth the Second was present at its opening. The City Tower was originally intended as a ventilation shaft, but remained unused for a long time. Only in 1999 it was converted into office space and conference rooms, as well as for the needs of radio and television broadcasting.

Spec Hall is a black and white country mansion that was built in 1530 during the Tudor period. The rise of this house lasted almost seventy years. For its construction, a special technique was used, including stone foundations, wooden frames and filling the space between them with clay. Inside the mansion you will find beautiful, restored rooms, as well as hidden rooms that were used by Catholic preachers for hiding. Visitors can view antique spy devices and an original chimney used for surveillance of the area. There are local legends about ghosts haunting Speck Hall. The grounds also feature gardens offering breathtaking views of the rolling hills and the Mersey Basin.

Knowsley Safari Park

The zoo is located within ten kilometers from the city limits and offers a unique opportunity to meet the most amazing animals and plants. Here you can see species that were brought to Liverpool many years ago, and the variety of flora and fauna of the park is equal to the beauty of the architectural masterpieces of the city. Among the inhabitants roaming freely throughout the spacious territory you can find wild dogs, zebras, giraffes, rhinoceroses and elephants. A visit to the safari park will be interesting and educational for the whole family.

Sefton Park
